Cole World: The Sideline Story

So the much anticipated Cole World: The Sideline Story hit stores and iTunes this past Tuesday 9.27.11
After waiting such a long time for this, i have to say....I love it! Classic written all over it. It seems J. Cole focuses more on story telling rather than crazy lyrics which he is known for. Still this album is a great album and i have heard the whole album over 10x. I Cant get enough of it.

If i was to rank each song excluding the Interlude & Intro. I would put the tracks like this.

The way the Interlude goes right into the Sideline Track is awesome & brilliant! And the story he tells in BreakDown, Lost Ones, Never Told, Sideline is just so real that everyone can relate to it in some way. I think this would've been a GREAT CLASSIC if songs such as "Work Out", "Mr. Nice Watch", "Who Dat", & "In The Morning" were replaced with songs such as "Return Of Simba", Premeditated Murder, & Roll Call if it would have been a longer song. I think these songs would of have fit better along with the other songs. But you know, J. Cole had to balance it out for the "catchy" mainstream music & the story telling lyrical songs. I respect that and hopefully he continues doing his thing. Can't wait for whats in store from him next. I am already waiting for the 2nd Album. COLE WORLD>4.5/5.0

Defiantly have to go and buy Cold World: The Sideline Story. It's only right to true hip-hop fans. This will be a classic and is already getting great reviews. Cole World!

So the much anticipated Cole World: The Sideline Story will hit shelves this Tuesday September 27th. I will defiantly be picking up my copy and not downloading the leaked version that is all over the Internet. Hopefully the leaked version will bring more J. Cole fans and realize that he is the definition of hip-hop and his lyrics and substance is what every other rapper is missing nowadays.

One of my friends put me on J. Cole when I was following Drake's early rap career. So Far Gone was The Drake that I was respecting. But once he got signed to Young Money, he fell off and focused more on hit singles with his singing voice. Respect to him cause he is doing his thing, but if he would of have kept that So Far Gone flow, he would of gotten more respect from people.

J. Cole on the other hand, has a flow that reminds me the 90's hip-hop which is what I respect about him. He didn't or hasn't change his flow since "The Come Up" and he is trying to get attention with that. So Many people don't understand J. Cole lyrics and only like singles the way Drake is doing. Hopefully people open their ears and buy the album this Tuesday. Real Hip-Hop is what J. Cole is going to bring back & hopefully Kendrick Lamar.

NY City of Hype

After living in NYC for 18 years, I think there isn't a city in the US that hype everything!

Back in early 2000's it was Jordans this and Jordan that. Now it's, Foamposite this Foamposite that. Even though it will never be as big as Jordan, just the hype of Foamposite has made me stop wearing them. I got into Foamposites back in '06 and fell in love. But now everyone wearing the same sneaker with the same outfit.

NYC is the HypeCity. Some Hype is good, but other Hype is just stupidity when a person only buys it cause it's "what hot" right now. Get your own style and wear what you like. Who cares if it's 50$ or 200$ sneakers. As long as you know how to pull it off and makes you feel comfortable, then that's style.

Google+

So yesterday I signed up for the much anticipated Google+.
If people don't know what Google+ is, let me give you an easy example. It is basically an online networking website that enables you to be in contact with your friends, family or co-workers.

After using it for a few hours, I actually like the layout of the website. There are some things and features that need improvement. Not saying that Google+ isn't good, it just needs further improvement so it can compete with the likes of Facebook & MySpace.

But I think this Google+ will become big in the next 2-3 years. Once they add more features and improve some areas, don't be surprise if people will start asking people "want to be in my circle".

I defiantly like Google+ and the mobile application is so much quicker than the Facebook App. Also when messaging a friend on the mobile app, you can actually add a picture from your phone which I thought was pretty great.

Time will tell, but it is defiantly a networking website to keep your eye on as people are complaining about the recent changes FaceBook are undergoing.

Been thinking about this for awhile now and now I'm starting to actually put some effort and dedication into this. Hopefully the hardwork and hunger I have will make one of my dreams come true.

My Reaction Once after Mayweather v Ortiz

Mayweather v Ortiz Fixed??

Welcome to my blog. My very first post i will discuss the Mayweather v Ortiz fight.

I am a true boxing fan and have been watching the sport with my family since the Chavez Era. That was a beautiful time period with fantastic and amazing classic boxing fights. I got more into boxing when the rise of Morales/Barrera/Marquez came about and were the main challengers to a young Pacquaio. I thought boxing was real until last nights fight between Ortiz & Mayweather.

That fight had "fixed" written all over it when it started with the head-butt and ended with Mayweather bashing Merchant. This fight reminded me of WWE or any wrestling main event, where the Ref gets "distracted" by someone and then the "bad" wrestler does a cheap shot (in that case, Mayweather to Ortiz) to the other opponent. I know it was legal and i've seen in the replay when the Cortez says "let's go". What i don't understand is why after Cortez allowed the fight to resume, right after he started talking to the judges/other officials and didn't focus his attention to the fighters like a Ref should do. When i was growing up and something like this occurred, the ref will separate the fighters and deduct the point to the fighter, brings the fighters to the middle of the ring and backs them up, and says "Fight". That is what a normal ref would do. 

This fight was just for the money and i believe Ortiz sold himself out for the Money. Why is it that he is happy after he lost his belt? Also in my time watching Ortiz as a fighter, he was never the person to do such a dirty foul. Lastly, it seems like if the Mayweather cheap shots did not hurt him at all. He took 2x the power in the Berto & Maidana fight and got up pretty quickly. Just makes me wonder and leaves me in disappointment.
